| Administration history: | 1798 ordnete Kaiser Franz I. die Aufstellung von 15 "leichten Infanteriebataillonen" an. Diese Bataillone hatten keinen Inhaber, sondern wurden nur nach dem Kommandanten benannt und mit fortlaufenden Nummern bezeichnet.
Das Leichte Infanteriebataillon Nr. 8 kam nie zur Aufstellung - es hätte aus dem Wurmser Freicorps gebildet werden sollen, welches jedoch selbst bis 1801 bestehen blieb. |
